About Us

St. Theresa School is a parish elementary school founded in 1925 with Pre-Kindergarten, beginning at age 3, through 8th grade. The school is fully accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference and recognized by the National Council for Private School Accreditation. It is staffed by the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles and dedicated Catholic lay women and men. Our students enjoy a rich tradition of spiritual and scholastic service to a diverse and dynamic community in the city of Coral Gables and its adjoining areas.

St. Theresa's is a large community of approximately 650 families with nearly 1,000 children, three rooms of each grade level. The teacher-student ratio varies at each grade level. The Program of Religious studies, academic curriculum, and system of discipline are designed to bring about our goals and objectives. It is assumed that the teachers and families at St. Theresa School believe and practice this same philosophy and will cooperate to achieve the goals of the school. Our curriculum emphasizes a strong foundation in elementary education. This basic curriculum is complemented by computer assisted instruction, Spanish, Music, Art, and Physical Education.  A "Strategies Program" is offered for students requiring additional academic assistance.
